My Surgery

I broke my foot and I needed surgery on it because I broke it in 4 different places and if I got a cast on, the bones could grow back to the wrong one.
So the doctors said I needed surgery to get pins in my foot. I was a little nervous.
My mom and dad drove me to a hospital for my surgery. Every time I looked down at my foot, it reminded me about my surgery. I was frozen in place because I was so scared. I was in a splint for my broken foot. When we got to the hospital, I got out of my crutches and was put in a wheel chair so I wouldn't take forever getting to the waiting room.
We then waited in the waiting room for me to be called for surgery. I saw the white walls and people being wheeled out of the surgery rooms with eye patches or casts. I shivered and was very nervous. What is I wake up during the surgery, what if something goes wrong? All of these went through my head while waiting. I was going up and down the halls on my wheel chair for entertainment while waiting.
I was then called for my surgery and I was put in this one room with a bed while waiting for the surgeons to get ready. I was horrified.
I was then cleaned in 6 different spots on my body in case of infection during surgery.
They then put an IV in me and put some medicine in me that made me goofy. It was very funny! I was smiling and giggling the whole time while waiting for my surgery. I didn't feel happy, but I just automatically laughed.
The doctor then came in and wheeled me to the operating room. Only one parent could go with me, so my mom did.
When I got to the operating room, I was put on an operating table.
The doctor then put some sleeping medicine in my IV and I don't remember falling asleep.
Then I woke up in a bed in the hospital with my mom and dad.
My mom told me I fell asleep 20 seconds after they put the sleeping medicine in me. They told me it was all done, but the medicine left over made me sleepy and mellow, but I was okay.
So anyone that is going to get surgery, don't worry! You won't feel a thing and whatever you got surgery on will be only a little sore afterwards, but it'll feel better!
